員山鄉中華社區

中華村位處員山鄉西南邊，地形狹長，台7甲線貫穿再連、粗坑、冷水坑和長嶺路四個坑門聚落。有豐富蝴蝶生態及清涼潭水，黑煙洞蘊藏有製作鉛筆芯的石墨礦，早期粗坑人的「輪水鬮」更是社區自治典範。本計畫為四個分散聚落辦理耆老座談工作坊，使得四個坑門居民增加互動，社區阿公阿嬤藉著輕鬆自在的座談，爬梳社區生活記憶，並藉以檢視社區的文史資源與發展條件。

Yuanshan Township’s Zhonghua Community

Zhonghua Village is a narrow strip of land located in southwestern Yuanshan Township. Provincial Highway 7A links up the four settlements in the community, Zailian, Cukeng, Lengshui, and Zhanglinglu. The area features rich butterfly habitats, placid lakes, and caves filled with graphite ore used to make pencil lead. Early Cukeng residents’ “revolving water allowance” method of water rationing is a model of community self-governance. As part of this project, the four dispersed settlements held oral history workshops, which helped to increase interaction between residents. The elderly men and women of the community shared their memories in a relaxed setting, and their words will be used to examine the community’s cultural and historical resources and development conditions.
