羅東鎮東安社區

東安社區位在羅東鎮東側，清朝先民開墾將土地整齊分列18條狀，舊名「十八埒」。日治時期鋸木工業讓大街小巷瀰漫檜木芳香，有木材巢之稱。近年社區致力推動木器手工藝產業，本次計畫的工作坊、社區小旅行及居民會議邀請地方民眾共同參與社區公共事務，除了完成木材文化資源盤點與分析，透過盤點林木產業遺址和閒置空間，冀望未來能設置專屬木材文化展示和教育研究基地：東安木材產業文化館。

Luodong Township’s Dong’an Community

The first Qing settlers divided Dong’an Community, located at the eastern edge of Luodong Township, into 18 neatly-arranged strips of land, so it was previously known as 18 Enclosures. During the Japanese Occupation, local sawmills filled the streets with the aroma of cypress wood and earned it the name “timber nest”. In recent years, the community has focused on promoting the woodworking industry. Through workshops, travel, and meetings held as part of this project, residents were invited to participate in the public affairs of the community. In addition to completing a wood-related cultural resource survey and analysis, the community inventoried dilapidated and vacant buildings related to the timber industry for possible future use as a lumber culture exhibition space that will serve as an education and research base: the Dongan Lumber Industry Museum.
