冬山鄉梅花社區

梅花社區位在冬山鄉西部，舊稱「茅埔圍」，包含鼻仔頭、大埤、茅埔城和下湖四個庄頭。本區盛產茅草，先民蓋茅仔厝，以石頭作為牆壁和耕地界線石埒，成社區建築特色。早年村民用木竹綁成「三腳苟」或稱「石笱」，內以石頭入草薦(草包)，用來搶救土陂，稱為顧陂。每年農曆七月七日村民準備飯菜、紙錢，在邊仔頭陂祭拜，是謂「拜陂」。本計畫以記錄地方耆老，導入學習機制，以達到承傳節慶文化。

Dongshan Township’s Meihua Community

Meihua Community is situated in western Dongshan Township and was formerly known as Maobuwei. The community includes the four villages of Bizaitou, Dapi, Maopucheng, and Xiahu. Wooly grass is abundant here, so early residents built thatch-roofed houses with stone walls and also encircled agricultural fields with lines of stones, which became local characteristics. In the early years, when slopes were threatened by rain, residents would weave baskets out of wood and bamboo and fill them with stones and grass to shore up the soil and prevent landslides. Every year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, the community brings food and ghost money to the Bianzaitou as offerings in the “slope worship” ceremony. Memories of local elders were recorded as part of this project, so this valuable cultural heritage can be passed down to the next generation.
