冬山鄉珍珠社區

珍珠社區位於冬山河中游地區，社區居民從事水稻和蔬菜種植為主，擁有宜蘭傳統農村竹圍景緻。水稻種植讓珍珠社區很早即運用稻草開發手工藝品，稻草文化藝術節和稻草工藝DIY。為保存傳統米食文化，特別邀請在地長老藉由傳習課程分享相關知識經驗。並規劃設置農村小學堂，作為區內學童和長者學習米食、民俗草藥和稻草工藝等農村傳統文化的固定空間，建立社區終身學習場域。

Dongshan Township’s Zhenzhu Community

Zhenzhu Community is located along the Dongshan River, where residents primarily grow rice and vegetables. Surrounded by a bamboo forest, it has the look of a traditional Yilan farming village. As a rice growing community, Zhenzhu began using straw as a craft material quite early in its history and now hosts the Straw Arts Festival and straw handicraft classes. In order to preserve their traditional rice-growing culture, village elders were invited to share their related knowledge and experience. A village schoolhouse was also set up as a permanent space in which children and their parents could learn about local traditions, such as rice cookery, folk medicines, and straw crafts to ensure life-long learning in the community.
